Nick Christensen is the Director of Chrisland Commercial Real Estate, Inc., a real estate services firm that works with key strategic partners and select clients on a variety of real estate projects in the Rocky Mountain region. Chrisland Commercial oversaw planning and development of 2534, a 542-acre mixed-use development at the intersection of I-25 and US Highway 34. Chrisland Commercial, along with its investors, are also owners and developers of The Plaza at 2534, a 60 acre mixed-use regional center planned for 600,000 square feet of high quality retail and office, and The Office at 2534, a planned 180,000+ square foot office park. In addition to its ownership role and providing development services, Chrisland Commercial brokered the sale of land for the Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital, medical office, numerous retail transactions and upscale residential at 2534. 

Chrisland Commercial also lists, or has sold, many key regional sites for brokerage clients in Northern Colorado including 2534 and the Crossroads Business Park. Chrisland Commercial and its investors also own and plan to develop 10 acres in Promontory, located at the junction of U.S. 34 bypass in west Greeley.

Nick previously served as Vice President of Real Estate and Chief Operating Officer at McWhinney and prior to that he worked as a broker at Realtec and was a property manager for The Bailey Company. Nick began his real estate career as an attorney with a small firm in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. 

Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University and a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1993. He is a licensed Colorado Real Estate Employing Broker.

Ryan Schaefer succeeded Nicholas Christensen, J.D. in January 2011 as the President of Chrisland Commercial Real Estate, Inc., a company that the two founded in November 2003.  Chrisland Commercial is a N. CO based real estate services firm providing brokerage, development, advisory, and asset management services.

Mr. Schaefer is an active commercial real estate broker, having brokered a wide variety of transactions including leases of existing buildings, ground leases, investment sales, anchor retailer transactions, corporate and headquarters facilities, residential and commercial development land sales, joint ventures, and build-to-suits.

Mr. Schaefer also runs day to day operations for Chrisland Commercial’s development and investment entities, including The Plaza at 2534, a mixed-use regional center planned for 600,000 square feet of high quality retail and office space, and other Chrisland Commercial development projects including sites for up to an additional 300,000+ s.f. of office buildings in N. CO.

In addition to providing development services on behalf of Chrisland Commercial’s entities, Mr. Schaefer has provided advisory services to other developers and to financial institutions ranging from regional to international financial institutions.

Prior to co-founding Chrisland Commercial, Mr. Schaefer worked as a commercial real estate broker for McWhinney Enterprises and Realtec Commercial. He played a key part in the history of McWhinney’s 3,000-acre Centerra development by brokering the sale of 107-acres to P.V.H for Medical Center of the Rockies and by brokering a joint-venture to develop the 700,000 square foot Promenade Shops at Centerra Lifestyle Center.

Mr. Schaefer graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Business Administration (real estate/ finance concentration).

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also serves on industry and community boards for organizations such as the Northern Colorado Commercial Association of Realtors, Colorado State University’s Everitt Real Estate Center, McKee Medical Center, and the Larimer Humane Society.

Jake Hallauer is an Advisor / Business Manager at Chrisland Commercial Real Estate, Inc., a real estate services firm that works with key strategic partners and select clients on a variety of real estate projects in the Northern Colorado region. Jake actively manages all business functions under the direction of the President of Chrisland Commercial; working with clients, in a brokerage and consulting capacity, and overseeing day-to-day business operations. Jake is also responsible for financial management of investment and development entities under Chrisland Commercial's management. In addition, Jake serves as Treasurer and Secretary for Chrisland Commercial Real Estate, Inc.

Jake started his career in commercial real estate as an Intern with Chrisland Commercial in August 2008. Jake's prior experience includes serving as Assistant Project Manager for Peak 7 Construction, LLC, a Breckenridge, Colorado based general contracting arm of a resort development and management company. While at Peak 7 Construction, Jake worked on the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, a $100,000,000 time share project.

Jake holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Real Estate and Financial Planning concentrations; Construction Management minor) from Colorado State University and is currently a Masters of Science in Real Estate and Construction Management candidate at the University of Denver. He is a licensed Colorado Real Estate Broker.
